Franz Tengg is counsel at Greenlake Legal.
He regularly advises Austrian and international banks, financial institutions, funds and corporate clients in various industry sectors on a broad spectrum of financing transactions ranging from senior unsecured, investment grade and leverage transactions, both domestic and cross-border, covering acquisition financing, real estate financing, asset financing as well treasury management.
Further, Franz has extensive experience in the field of restructuring and insolvency and has been involved in some of the largest solvent and insolvent restructurings and insolvencies in Austria, acting both for creditors as well as for debtors.
In addition, he regularly advises clients on structuring and exploiting special situations and special opportunities, such as distressed debt transactions, litigation financing and claims trading, and on unprecedented special projects.
Franz also has particular strengths in regulatory analysis and compliance acting for credit institutions, funds, insurance undertakings and other regulated entities.
Background
Franz has been active as a finance lawyer for more than 10 years. Before joining Greenlake Legal, he worked for Freshfields in Vienna and Paris and in structured finance at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany.
He holds a law degree from the University of Vienna (Mag. iur.) and a business degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (B.Sc.). During his studies he spent a semester at McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin focussing on accounting and finance.
